Apparently some people seem to be quite concerned about the terrorists & the coverage they demand on various media forums.
“If the media presents terrorists as heros and glorifies the menace, it would have negitive impacts on the society” - Sherry Rehman – InformationMinister
Nahhh… Stop! You really think so, miss oh so Sherry ? How much more of ”negitivity” , remains to be further injected as yet?
The Media aint “glorifying” shit! Its termed as highligting of real issues that we are posed against & it certainly is the need of the hour or else it must have took another 6 months or so for MR Rehman Malik to speak up. The captivation of a whole region as vast as ‘Swat’ , by some dumb yet ‘killer’ beardbearing rebels is not some dust that can be swept under the (already very dirty)carpet. Its ‘Huge”, and deserves all the due attention from the media aswell as the governing bodies.
The “glorification”, as you say, is the only weapon that the civilians of Swat & the adjoining under seige areas have to their favour. If it wasnt for this glorification probably even you as the info minister would not have been able to come at par with the gravity of the situation, since at most, you are too self indulged with your “surkhi powdar” & designer “Channel” Shades.
Its this hype on the issue, generated over the past few weeks in Print, web & TV that has finally managed to raise some eyebrows, consequently resulting into an overdue but a well deserved debate in the parliment as to, ‘how’ and ‘what’ needs to be done about the already atrophic scenario of the north.
However I found the mood & tone a bit too funny(read: gay) to resist bursting into an, ”LOL”, in which the Interrior Advisor addressed the situation. (yet, better funny then never)
“The militants must surrender or run away for they are harming the people, the law enforcement agencies and impending economic development” - Rehman Malik, Interior Adviser. awww… how gay & thoughtful of you Mr Adviser.

sahi kaha ap nay..yeh bohat shiri ladi hai.
